Players Presents Annual Broadway Our Way Fundraiser

December 20, 2007 - Uptown Players kicks off its seventh season
with its annual fundraiser Broadway Our Way: Valley of the Divas,
held January 11 – 20, 2008. For the past
five years, this show has been a complete sell-out and is sure to be
a hot ticket for January 2008. By popular demand, a seventh
performance has been added to this year’s run.
The
Uptown divas return for another entertaining evening of Broadway
music with plenty of twists, laughs and surprises. Broadway Our
Way: Valley of the Divas will be hosted by Paul J.
Williams and will feature nearly 30 songs from new Broadway hits
such as Legally Blonde, Jersey Boys, The Drowsy Chaperone,
and Grey Gardens, as well as classic favorites like
Singing In The Rain, Chess and Chicago.
This
year’s cast includes Beth Albright, Andi Allen, Patty
Breckenridge, Coy Covington, Joshua Doss, John Garcia, Jeff Kinman,
Linda Leonard, Sara Shelby-Martin, Tony Martin, Cameron McElyea, Kevin
Moore, Stacey Oristano, Chad Peterson, John de los Santos, Amy
Stevenson and Paul J. Williams. Broadway Our Way is written
and directed by Andi Allen with music direction by Kevin Gunter and
Buddy Shanahan, with choreography by John de los Santos.
The
evening also features a gallery of over 50 terrific auction prizes,
including theatre tickets, restaurant gift certificates, hotel stays
and much more! A reception follows each performance.
The
production runs January 11 through January 20, 2008, with shows at 8
p.m. on Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sundays.
Performances take place at the KD Studio Theatre, 2600 N. Stemmons
