GROUP ANNOUNCES SEVERAL NEW HIRES TO ITS TEXAS HIGHER EDUCATION
DESIGN STUDIO
AUSTIN
– November 30, 2007 –
Dallas-based SHW Group, the nation’s premier educational
architecture design firm, has added several new employees to its
Texas Higher Education studio, including Eric Miller, Deborah
Ebersole, Jeremy Theodore and Troy Contreras.
Eric
Miller joined the firm as an Intern Architect. Prior to joining SHW
Group, Miller spent six years at the University of Texas’ special
project studio, where he was senior project manager of construction
and also supervised the student intern program. A member of the
Austin AIA chapter, he serves as chairman of the chapter’s young
architectural professionals committee, where his leadership inspired
a design competition that created a new display for the Trail of
Lights festival in Zilker Park in Austin. Eric received his
Bachelor’s of Architecture from the New Jersey School of
Architecture in Newark.
Deborah
Ebersole, AIA, LEED AP, joined SHW Group as a project manager, where
she is responsible for project development, meeting coordination,
specification writing, construction management, sustainability
research and documentation for multiple Texas projects. She
previously worked as an Associate at Austin-based Cotera+Reed
Architects and as a Project Manager at Round Rock, Texas-based OPUS
3, Architects and Planners. Ebersole is a LEED-Accredited
professional and a member of AIA’s Committee on the Environment. Deb
received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas
at Austin.
Jeremy
Theodore, AIA, LEED AP, joined the firm as senior project architect.
Theodore relocated from Portland, Oregon where he spent the past
seven years as a Project Architect at BOORA Architects. While at
BOORA, he worked on a variety of high-profile educational projects
including The University of Washington’s Intramural Building in
Seattle, the Genentech Research Facility in San Francisco, and The
University of California at Santa Cruz’s Center for Ocean Health.
Theodore graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor’s
of Architecture.
Troy
Contreras, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, joined SHW Group as a Project
Designer. Contreras has 10 years industry experience, serving as
Project Architect and Project Manager at several architectural firms
including Austin-based Noack Little, Perkins+Will’s Los Angeles
office and DLR Group’s Chicago office. Contreras received a
Bachelor’s of Architecture and a Bachelor’s of Environmental Design
from the University of Houston’s College of Architecture.
