NEEDLESS NECESSITIES, PAWS IN
THE CITY AND DALLAS ANIMAL SERVICES HELPED FIND HOMES FOR
203 HOMELESS PETS
Needless Necessities and Paws in the City
hosted pet adoptions to allow rescued pets an opportunity to be
placed in new loving homes.
Dallas,
February 4, 2008 –
In
2007, 203 homeless pets, including 93 from Dallas Animal Services,
found new homes and potentially avoided euthanization, thanks to
bi-weekly pet adoption events hosted by Needless Necessities and
Paws in the City (PITC). Before the Needless Necessities
partnership, PITC had never had so many visitors, volunteers,
donations, and most importantly, animal adoptions occur. Holding
events at Needless Necessities, located near Knox-Henderson, coupled
with additional promotional efforts by PITC, increased visitor
traffic by 90 percent, which allowed more pets to be adopted.
“This is
an incredible achievement made possible by Needless Necessities,
Dallas Animal Services, and the tireless efforts of the dedicated
Paws in the City volunteers, friends and sponsors,” said John
Harper, adoption coordinator for Paws in the City. “Our goal this
year is to increase the number of rescued and neglected pets we
place in new homes, and to enhance our efforts to reach out to the
community.”
Needless Necessities
has signed on for another year to host the bi-weekly pet adoptions
with the Dallas Animal Services and PITC. Pet adoptions are held
every other Saturday. For more information on upcoming events, visit
