BAKERY PRESIDENT APPOINTED TO THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS FOR THE SCHOOL
OF MERCHANDISING AND HOSPITALITY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS
DALLAS - February 11, 2008
- Mark Menking, president of Celebrity Café & Bakery, was recently
granted a seat on the Board of Governors for the School of
Merchandising and Hospitality at the University of North Texas,
located in Denton, Texas. Members of the Board of Governors bring
their expertise to faculty and students through participation in
curriculum development, keynote lectures, recruitment events and
field studies. They also offer input on industry trends and serve as
a network to examine internship and career opportunities for
students.
A critical function of the board is to assist the
school in developing and educating external support.
Members who join this board come from several different backgrounds
including national and international hotel, restaurant, food service
and club companies; food distribution companies; and accounting and
consulting companies.
“It is a great honor to be a part of such a prestigious
organization,” said Mark Menking, president of Celebrity Café and
Bakery. “Not only will this allow us to become more involved
throughout the community, but it also provides us with a fresh
insight in the merchandising industry.”
