LAUNCHES NOUVEAU, URBAN CANVAS AND SOLARE COLLECTIONS
New tile
collections feature contemporary looks, highly-stylized accents
and beautiful, hand-crafted glass mosaics
DALLAS – June 11,
2008 – Tile manufacturer and distributor American Olean has
introduced three new product collections – Nouveau, Urban Canvas and
Solare Glass Mosaics.
“With contemporary
designs, beautiful textures and elegant glass tiles, these
collections are some of the most beautiful that American Olean has

and marketing for American Olean. “The highlight of this launch is
Nouveau. Its contemporary “pin-dot” texture, paired with its large
modular sizes and rectified edges, lends a modern simplicity and

Nouveau –
ColorBody Porcelain
Nouveau is a very
modern ColorBody porcelain floor tile that features a “pin-dot”
visual and a textured surface for a dramatic, yet sophisticated,
look. Each of the series’ five contemporary colors – Exposition
White, Luminary Gold, Artisan Brown, Industrial Gray and Abstract
Black – is available in either an unpolished or light polished
finish. Nouveau’s four modular sizes (12”x 12”, 18”x 18”, 12”x 24”
and 24”x 24”) are rectified, allowing clean, tight grout joints.
A 2”x 12” decorative
accent that combines the field tile with metallic elements and
diagonal patterns is available in three coordinating color
combinations and features a larger, more pronounced “pin-dot”
texture than the field tile, creating a highly textured look. A 3”x
12” bullnose, 6”x 12” cove base and 1”x 6” cove base outcorner
complete the collection.
Nouveau is
suitable for floors, walls, backsplashes and countertops in both
residential and commercial settings. It is suitable for exterior
residential floors and walls in freezing and non-freezing climates
(unpolished finish only), as well as exterior walls in commercial
settings.
Urban Canvas –
Ceramic Wall Tile
Urban Canvas is a
contemporary ceramic wall tile with a multitude of colors, sizes,
trim pieces and accents, making it a great backdrop for designers’
one-of-a-kind statements and expressions. The collection’s
decorative accents, which include a variety of interesting patterns,
textures and materials (including real leather), makes Urban Canvas
stand out from everything else on the market.
Urban Canvas features
ten colors in both gloss and matte finishes that coordinate with
American Olean’s Bright and Matte collections, including Ice White,
Biscuit, Cappuccino, Mushroom, Nutmeg, French Roast, Artichoke,
Light Smoke, Smokey Quartz and Black. Two modular field tiles (4 ¼”
x 8 ½” and 4 ¼” x 12 ¾”) and a 2” x 4” dot-mounted, straight-joint
mosaic allow almost endless creativity with easy installation.
A comprehensive
package of highly-stylized accent pieces is the star of the Urban
Canvas collection, including:

In
addition to the highly-stylized accent pieces, Urban Canvas’
decorative tile package also includes a 2” x 8 ½” Leather Plane, a 4
¼” x 8 ½” Leather Plane and a 2” x 12 ¾” Leather Arc, all available
in Sepia and Ecru and made from actual leather. A 2” x 12 ¾” chair
rail (available in select colors) and a ½” x 8 ½” Ellipse
wave-patterned ceramic accent (available in all field tile colors)
complete the collection’s deco package.
Urban Canvas
ceramic wall tile is suitable for residential and commercial walls
and backsplashes. In residential settings, the matte finish field
tile can also be used on bathroom floors.
Solare –
Glass Mosaic Tile
Solare is a
collection of glass mosaics with irregular edges that create a
unique, hand-crafted look. Solare is available in 22 highly-varied
clear (Crystal, Ice, Sunlight, Brook, Aqua, Lagoon, Smoke and Coral
Reef), clear-iridescent (Amber, Rainwater, Maple, Rainforest, Dusk,
Cobalt and Midnight) and solid-iridescent (Frost, Sand, Mushroom,
Mint, Horizon, Lava Rock and Coal) colors, as well as seven color
blends (Citrus, Autumn, Glacier, Forest, Deep Woods, Spring Rain and
Tropical).
All colors are
available in a 1” x 1” and 2” x 1” brick-joint mosaic. A pinwheel
pattern that pairs 2” x 1” Frost tile with a 1” x 1” Lava Rock dot
is also available. All sizes and colors come paper-faced in 12” x
12” sheets for ease of installation.
Solare glass
mosaics are suitable for residential and commercial walls and
backsplashes, as well as pool linings. It is also suitable for
exterior walls in both freezing and non-freezing climates when
proper installation methods are followed.
