Uptown Players presents “Harbor”

DALLAS, September 9, 2015 – Uptown Players closes its 2015 season with the regional premiere of the sharp and timely new comedy, Harbor by Chad Beguelin. The show runs at the Kalita Humphreys Theater from October 9 through October 26, 2015.

In Harbor, Kevin’s seemingly perfect world hits troubled waters in this “wickedly funny” play when his ne’er-do-well sister, Donna and her teenage daughter show up unexpectedly at the Sag Harbor home he shares with his husband, Ted. The bonds between kith and kin are tested in this alternately biting and touching comedy, about the constantly shifting nature of the meaning of family.

Playwright Chad Beguelin is a four-time Tony® nominee. His works include Disney’s Aladdin and The Wedding Singer, for which he received Tony Award nominations for “Best Book and Best Original Score.” He also wrote the lyrics for the Broadway musical Elf, which broke several box office records at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

The Uptown production stars Kevin Moore, Chad Peterson, Cara Serber, and Kennedy Waterman and is under the direction of Coy Covington.

The production runs October 9 through October 26, 2015, with shows at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays (no performances October 11). Performances will take place on the main stage at the Kalita Humphreys Theatre, 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd (at Blackburn), Dallas, TX 75219. Tickets are $25-$40 and can be purchased online at www.uptownplayers.org or by phone at (214) 219-2718.
