Unilin adds proprietary ScratchGuard Technology to Mohawk, Quick-Step, and Columbia Flooring Laminate products

New, advanced scratch-resistant technology further solidifies Unilin’s stance as industry’s “innovation leader”

Unilin Flooring LogoDallas, February 2, 2009 – Unilin Flooring NC LLC, the makers of Mohawk, Quick-Step, and Columbia Flooring brands, has unveiled its proprietary ScratchGuard Advanced Finish Protection for laminate flooring. ScratchGuard, which will be introduced into select products within the three brands’ collections this spring, is a surface finish technology that will further enhance the company’s already industry-leading scratch-resistant top layer.

“Distributors and retailers have always had the confidence that selling Mohawk, Quick-Step, or Columbia Laminate flooring meant their customers were getting the best protection against scratching available, keeping a customer’s floors looking like new,” Farabee added. “With our new, proprietary ScratchGuard Advanced Finish Protection, we have just taken our already superior level of resistance and made it even better.”

“True to our reputation as the leader in both style and technological innovation in our industry, Unilin is again pioneering another enhanced performance feature that maintains our flooring’s position as the most advanced products in our market,” said Roger Farabee, senior vice president of marketing, Unilin Flooring NC LLC, a Mohawk Industries company.

The new ScratchGuard technology increases a floor’s resistance to abrasion by preventing the minor scratches caused by routine dust and dirt which can dull the surface finish over time.  ScratchGuard technology further increases the durability and long-lasting properties of Mohawk, Quick-Step, and Columbia floors, which have always offered some of the best warranties in the industry.
