Metal tiles introduced; four new colors added to City View; Maracas Glass and Glass Reflections collections expanded to include large rectilinear sizes and linear brick-joint mosaics
Dallas, August 22, 2008 – Daltile, the largest U.S. manufacturer and distributor of ceramic tile and natural stone, has launched the Metallica tile collection, a line of tiles covered in a layer of real brushed stainless steel or oxidized copper and comes in a wide assortment of field and mosaic tile sizes and patterns.
The brand has also expanded three of its most popular product collections to include many of today’s hottest colors and rectilinear sizes. Four modern colors have been added to the City View porcelain tile collection, and three large, rectilinear sizes and a modern interlocking random linear mosaic have been added to both the Glass Reflections and Maracas Glass series.
“The new Metallica collection, and the large format size and color additions to two of our most popular glass lines, are right in line with some of today’s hottest interior design trends,” said Lori Kirk-Rolley, senior director of marketing for Daltile.

Additionally, the brand has selected popular colors and sizes from its Diamante line, which was exclusively special order, and introduced them into its regular stocking program.
New Product Introductions:
Metallica – Metal-Covered Marble Tiles (Professional Tile Solutions)
Metallica is a line of marble tile covered with a layer of real metal – either brushed stainless steel or oxidized copper – that comes in a variety of sizes and mosaic patterns.
The collection features a 4″x 4″ field tile and eight mosaic sizes and patterns, including a 1″x 1″ mosaic, a 2″x 2″ mosaic, a random mosaic (¾”x ¾” and ¾”x 2 ½” tiles), a 1″x 1″ hexagon mosaic, a ¾” pennyround mosaic, a small basketweave mosaic (1″x 1″ and 1″x 2″ tiles), a large basketweave mosaic (1″x 1″ and 4″ tiles) and a square combination mosaic (1″x 1″ and 1 ½”x 1 ½” tiles). A 1″x 10″ liner rounds out the collection.
City View – ColorBody Porcelain Line Extension
Four new colors have been added to Daltile’s popular City View series, a ColorBody porcelain tile collection that emulates the refined, minimalist look of concrete, mixed with subtle limestone signatures and a lightly textured surface. The new colors – Neighborhood Park (green), Seaside Boardwalk (blue/gray), Village Café (chocolate) and Urban Evening (black) – reflect some of today’s most fashionable colors in the marketplace.
The new colors are available in all of City View’s rectified floor/wall tile sizes (12″x 12″, 18″x 18″, 12″x 24″ and 24″x 24″), as well as the collection’s mesh-mounted interlocking, random linear brick-joint tile and its 3″x 12″ decorative accent.
Glass Reflections & Maracas Glass – Glass Tile Line Extension
Three large, rectilinear sizes and a modern interlocking random linear mosaic have been added to both the Glass Reflections and Maracas Glass series. The new large size options include 4 ¼”x 12 ¾”, 4 ¼”x 8 ½” and 8 ½”x 17″ glass tiles, all of which are available by special order in each of Glass Reflections’ 16 fun-spirited colors and Maracas Glass’ 14 coastal earth tones. The new sizes are available in both glossy and frosted finishes.
A modern twist is also being added to both collections in the form of a new interlocking random linear mosaic. Glass Reflections’ Whisper Blues and Urban Canvas color blends and Maracas Glass’ Lake Shore and Rain Forest color blends will be stocked, and all other color blends in both collections will be available via special order.
Diamante – ColorBody Porcelain
Some of the most popular colors and sizes from Daltile’s Diamante collection, a ColorBody limestone-look porcelain tile that was previously available exclusively by special order, have been added to the brand’s catalog of regularly stocked items.
Four sophisticated colors (Bianco, Sabbia, Crema, Grigio and Ardesia) are now available to dealers in both 12″x 12″ and 12″x 24″ sizes, as well as the collection’s trim pieces – all of which come in polished and unpolished finishes.
